Make the ask obvious
Donate, volunteer, join. Whichever one matters most sits in the header on every page and repeats through the site. Support is usually lost to hesitation rather than refusal, so we never make someone hunt for the button.
Explain the cause before they scroll
Most visitors decide whether they care in the first few seconds. Who you help, where, and what their money or time actually does, all answered above the fold in plain language instead of three paragraphs of mission statement.
Something a volunteer can update
You should not need to pay a developer to post an event or change a date. The site is built so whoever is on the committee this year can edit a page, add news and keep it current without breaking the design.
Accessible to every supporter
Proper contrast, real text instead of words baked into images, keyboard navigation and sensible headings. Plenty of your supporters are older or use a screen reader, and accessibility is increasingly something funders ask about.
Proof the money is handled properly
ACNC registration, DGR status, ABN, your committee and where the funds actually go, all visible. People give more readily when the organisation looks accountable, and it saves you answering the same question by email.

We work out what the site needs to say, and in what order, before anyone designs a thing.

Design and development
We design and build your homepage first, so you see the real thing rather than a picture of it.
You get a working homepage on a private link, not a flat mockup. Click through it, scroll it, open it on your phone, show it to whoever you trust for an honest opinion. It is far easier to give useful feedback on something real.
Once you are happy with the look and the feel, we build out the rest of the site to match it.

Optimisation and testing
We make it quick, check it everywhere, and change anything that is not right.
Most of your customers will meet you on a phone, often on patchy regional reception, so we cut the load time down until the site opens straight away. Then every page gets checked across phones, tablets and desktop.
This is also your round of changes. Reword a section, swap a photo, add the service you forgot about. Nothing goes live until you have signed off on it.
